We schedule classes for EMT BASICS
typically once a year. WADES uses instructors from the
Pickaway-Ross
Career and Technology Center. All instructors are certified and
serving as EMTs for other departments in the area. Currently the course
requires 130 hours of classroom instruction, several hours in on-hands
training at an approved Emergency Room and on-the-job training with us,
observing on actual squad runs.
All that is required to become a student is
a valid, current Ohio Driver's License, a commitment to learn the
assigned material, a desire to give back to your community and your
TIME. You should also live within a reasonable response time to our
station, however all interested people should apply. Williamsport & Deercreek Emergency Squad pays all course and
related fees.
